When all has been heard, the end of the matter is: fear God [worship Him with awe-filled reverence, knowing that He is almighty God] and keep His commandments, for this applies to every person. For God will bring every act to judgment, every hidden and secret thing, whether it is good or evil.

God has created all of us to honour, trust and serve Him. Not primarily to be rich, famous and powerful. These are distractions.

Life on earth is not easy and without its challenges. Through adversity our character grows and we are drawn closer to God. 

It is because we do not understand, or remember, that our earthly existence is all about God, that we get side-tracked by the desire to conform to this world. 

Don’t get me wrong – there is nothing wrong with being rich, famous or powerful, as long as it is less important than to honour, trust and serve God. 

The problem starts with not honouring and not respecting God. Either we believe He does not exist, or we reduce Him to someone who we can ask to solve our problems when we are in a fix. 

No! He is the creator of everything including myself. He loves me. He wants me to willingly love Him. He will not force himself upon me but that does not mean that he is impotent or non-existent. … For I am God and not man, the Holy One in your midst… Hosea 11:9 AMP

We all fear things: other races and cultures, poverty, cancer and more. But not to fear or respect God is a grave mistake. He is real and He is omnipresent. 

Once you realize who God is, you can start to trust Him. Start with the small things and as your faith grows, you will be able to trust Him with bigger things. 

Once you start to know and trust God, you will want to serve Him and be obedient to Him. Your heart will be tuned in to Him and your heart and will will start to reflect His. Now you can follow your heart to serve Him and your fellow South Africans. 

By putting God first in our lives, we can make South Africa the jewel of His kingdom here on earth. Nothing will be too difficult for us to overcome or accomplish, because it will be all for His glory and nothing else. 

Make an appointment with God our Father today. He is expecting you. 

Respect and obey the Lord ! This is the first step to wisdom and good sense. God will always be respected.
