Without children, there is no future – not for our bloodline, not for our legacy, not for our country. 

But if you love me and obey my laws, I will be kind to your families for thousands of generations.

We, as parents, determine the future of our children – will they be happy, will they have a future that is worth looking forward to? Or will we leave them a country of poverty, debt, illiteracy, hate and pollution?

It starts with me – even if I do not have a life companion or children yet. Do I have a grip on my life? Am I happy, balanced, focused, responsible? 

Then, do I have respect for my wife (or husband)? The lives and future of our children is built upon the quality of the relationship I have with her. 

Do I do my best to give my children the life and future they need and deserve? Protection against the onslaughts of life and the world, wisdom gained by my experience, access to education and care paid for by doing my job well?

Teach your children right from wrong, and when they are grown they will still do right.

This may all sound like the natural thing for parents to do, yet still, South Africa has many neglected children. 

My eyes are red from crying, my stomach is in knots, and I feel sick all over. My people are being wiped out, and children lie helpless in the streets of the city.

Lamentations 2:11 CEV

Let’s do our part to provide the children of South Africa with the future they need to build upon what we have built. Let’s love them even more, let’s work hard, let’s equip them to the best of our ability. Their lives and future will improve through our dedication and commitment to them. 

My vision for South Africa is: “For all South-Africans to be in a position to provide for their families, to offer their children a future, to make a contribution to their country, to be proud of South Africa and the individual contributions of their compatriots. That each will have the opportunity to meet and serve Jesus and God the Father”.
